NSN achieved the world’s first 2.6 Gbps throughput over a single TD-LTE cell


NSN showcased unprecedented speeds at Mobile World Congress 2014.
Using its commercially available Flexi Multiradio 10 Base Station and an NG40 EPC load test emulator, NSN’s Mountain View facility in California beat the previous 1.6 Gbps record and demonstratied the achievement at MWC 2014.
The 2.6 gigabits per second (Gbps) throughput end to end traffic were generated by an external applicaiton server and transmitted over SGi, through the NG40 EPC emulator over S1-U and a single sector to real UEs.

IBM - Competance in an ERA of SMART

IBM illustrated the latest developments in NFV. The IBM Smart Cloud Orchestrator is managing the instance of the vEPC as well as the vNG40 LTE RAN for preproduction testing. Novelty is that the configuration and metadata data of the Orchestrator are used to create and control the NG4T virtual network tester vNG40 for ad-hoc sanity checks of virtual network functions, routing and service chaining.

Intel - End-toEnd NVF: vEPC Service Orchestration

Intel presented it’s processors and network cards as platform for NFV with an orchestrated virtual EPC (vEPC). The vEPC was supplemented by an NG40-RAN, generating user plane and control plane traffic to verify vEPC functionality.
